Scope of Work – NEC Compliant Electrical Service Relocation Contractor: High West Electric High West Electric will relocate all existing branch circuit wiring from the exterior all-in-one main service panel located on the south side of the residence to new load centers installed within the basement interior. This relocation is being completed to improve accessibility, protection from environmental exposure, and to bring the installation in line with current NEC standards. As part of the scope: Service Equipment Replacement: The existing exterior combination panel will be removed and replaced with a 200-amp meter socket and 200-amp main disconnect. The new service disconnect will be installed at the exterior of the building in accordance with NEC 230.70(A)(1), which requires the service disconnect to be readily accessible and located nearest the point of entrance of the service conductors. The meter socket and disconnect will be installed per utility requirements and shall meet the working space and mounting height requirements of NEC 110.26 and NEC 240.24(A). Feeder Installation to Interior Panel(s): A feeder will be installed from the new exterior 200-amp disconnect to the interior main panel located in the basement. This feeder will be installed in compliance with: NEC 230.91 – Service overcurrent protection requirements. NEC 310.15(B) – Conductor ampacity adjustment and correction factors. NEC 250.24(A)(5) – Grounding electrode conductor termination at the service. Interior Load Centers: One or more new load centers will be installed in the basement to consolidate all existing branch circuits, including those from the former: Exterior main panel Interior subpanel(s) Exterior subpanel(s), if applicable All branch circuits will be extended or re-routed as needed using approved methods (splicing in accessible junction boxes where required), in accordance with: NEC 300.14 – Length of free conductors at outlet, junction, and switch points. NEC 312.8 – Panelboard and cabinet wiring space. NEC 408.4(A) – Circuit identification. No Load Increase: No new loads will be added to the service as part of this project. The service capacity remains at 200 amps, and the existing connected load remains unchanged. Load calculations confirm adequacy per NEC 220.40 and NEC 230.42(A). Bonding and Grounding: The grounding electrode system and bonding of water/gas piping, rebar (UFER if applicable), and any other metallic systems will be verified and updated per: NEC 250.50 – Grounding electrode system. NEC 250.64 – Grounding electrode conductor installation. NEC 250.92 – Bonding of service equipment.
